Fourth-seeded Serena Williams was undone by a slew of errors Sunday and lost the Kremlin Cup final in Moscow, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1, to Elena Dementieva, who won her hometown tournament on the third attempt.

Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko gave Russia a sweep of the men’s and women’s titles by beating Paul-Henri Mathieu, 7-5, 7-6 (9), and winning this event for the second straight year. This was the first title of the year for Davydenko, who also won this tournament in 2004.

Dementieva, runner-up in 2001 and 2004, had not beaten Williams in four previous matches. Williams, seeded fourth, had seven aces but made 59 unforced errors.

Williams, playing in Moscow for the first time since 1997, had not dropped a set on the way to her third final of the season.

Seventh-seeded Ivo Karlovic had 27 aces in defeating Thomas Johansson, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, to win the Stockholm Open for the third title of his career.

Karlovic has a tour-leading 1,135 aces this year. Goran Ivanisevic set the record in 1996 with 1,477 aces.

Karlovic also joined top-ranked Roger Federer as the only players to win singles titles on three surfaces this year, winning on clay, grass and hardcourt.

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic beat Stanislas Wawrinka, 6-4, 6-0, in the final of the BA-CA Tennis Trophy at Vienna for his fifth ATP title of the season.

Dodgers are moving to 790 next season

KABC 790 will be the Dodgers’ flagship station starting next season.

The Dodgers are expected to make the announcement at 8:30 a.m. today on KABC’s “McIntyre in the Morning” program, a source with knowledge of the situation said. Dodgers owner Frank McCourt will discuss the deal on the air at 11 a.m.

The Dodgers will be returning to the station that served as their home from 1973-1997.

The Dodgers declined to confirm the deal, which ends the Dodgers’ five-year run on KFWB 980.

KFWB’s offer on a new deal was taken off the table in September.

The Dodgers will also be switching their Spanish-language home next season, moving from KWKW 1330 to KHJ 930.

Holyfield’s trainer questions continuing

Apparently against his trainer’s wishes, Evander Holyfield, 44, wants to continue fighting despite losing Saturday to Sultan Ibragimov in his bid for a fifth heavyweight title.

“My goal is to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world,” said Holyfield, who turns 45 Friday.

Ronnie Shields is not as enthusiastic.

“I think he should take some time and think about what he wants to do,” he said. “I can’t make that decision for him.”

Holyfield is 42-9 with two draws but only 6-6 with two draws since 1999.
