at Buffalo 5, Toronto 4 ( OT): Ales Kotalik scored a power-play goal with four seconds left in overtime for the win. Kotalik’s slap shot was stopped by goalie Andrew Raycroft, but Toronto defenseman Bryan McCabe inadvertently knocked the puck into his own net to give the Sabres the dramatic victory.

San Jose 4, at Vancouver 2: Joe Pavelski, Joe Thornton and Jonathan Cheechoo scored in a 3:20 span early in the third period to lift the Sharks to victory. Evgeni Nabokov finished with 24 saves, keeping the Sharks in the game early with a handful of highlight stops.

at Ducks 6, Detroit 3: Samuel Pahlsson scored a tie-breaking short-handed goal with 10:58 left in the third period.
