San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials have named a fifth victim of the recent heat wave. Officials found Margaret Civick, 88, dead in her residence on Wednesday. The air conditioning was not on, officials said.

At least five people have died in the county of heat-related issues since Aug. 31.

Officials initially said they believed heat was a factor in the death of a 47-year-old woman found about 21 miles outside Baker. She became separated from two companions when they went for help after their car got stuck in sand. Officials now believe other factors may have caused the woman’s death. Her identity has not been released.
