* No. 5 Wisconsin 20, at Nevada Las Vegas 13: Tyler Donovan scored on a 29-yard boot leg with 1:53 to play and the Badgers (2-0) edged the Rebels (1-1). P.J. Hill led Wisconsin with 147 yards in 20 carries.

* at No. 12 Ohio State 20, Akron 2: The Buckeyes (2-0) forced the befuddled Zips (1-1) to punt 14 times, including after 12 consecutive three-and-out series in the victory at Columbus. Ohio State won its 30th game in a row against schools from Ohio since losing, 7-6, to Oberlin in 1921.

* at Northwestern 36, Nevada 31: C.J. Bacher threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to a diving Ross Lane with 21 seconds left to cap a frenzied six-play, 80-yard drive as the Wildcats (2-0) rallied to beat the Wolf Pack (0-2) at Evanston, Ill.

* at Minnesota 41, Miami (Ohio) 35 (3 OT): Amir Pinnix rushed for 126 yards and his two-yard touchdown in the third overtime lifted the Gophers (1-1) over the RedHawks (1-1) at Minneapolis. Minnesota had led, 28-12, with 8:35 left.

* at Michigan State 28, Bowling Green 17: Brian Hoyer completed 17 of 29 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns as the Spartans (2-0) held off the Falcons (1-1) at East Lansing.

* at Purdue 52, Eastern Illinois 6: Curtis Painter tied a school record with six touchdown passes to lead the Boilermakers (2-0) over the Panthers (1-1) at West Lafayette, Ind. Painter’s output tied the record set by Drew Brees in 1998 and matched by Kyle Orton in 2004.

* Indiana 37, at Western Michigan 27: Freshman Mitchell Evans intercepted the first two passes of his career and led the Hoosiers (2-0) over the Broncos (0-2) at Kalamazoo.

* at Iowa 35, Syracuse 0: Jake Christensen threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns and the Hawkeyes (2-0) held the Orange (0-2) to five first downs at Iowa City. Iowa handed Syracuse its worst loss under third-year Coach Greg Robinson.

* at Illinois 21, Western Illinois 0: Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 139 yards and the Fighting Illini (1-1) pulled away to defeat the Leathernecks (1-1) at Champaign.
