* Chicago 5, at Pittsburgh 1: Carlos Zambrano pitched himself out of an extended slump with one of his best starts of the season, limiting the Pirates to two hits and a run over six-plus innings for the Cubs. Zambrano (15-12) had been 0-3 since signing a $91.5-million contract extension last month and was 0-5 with an 8.29 earned-run average over six starts.

* at New York 3, Houston 1: Tom Glavine carried a perfect game into the sixth and allowed one run over seven-plus innings to lead the Mets past the Astros. David Wright matched his career high with his 27th home run for New York.

* Milwaukee 4, at Cincinnati 3: Rickie Weeks tripled to drive in Craig Counsell with the go-ahead run in the ninth inning for the Brewers. Prince Fielder hit his 43rd home run for Milwaukee.

* at Philadelphia 9, Florida 1: Greg Dobbs had a run-scoring triple and a home run and Chris Coste and Jimmy Rollins also homered as the Phillies ended a losing streak at two games.

* at Arizona 9, St. Louis 8: Stephen Drew hit a three-run home run in a five-run fourth inning for the Diamondbacks. The Cardinals scored seven runs in the third to take a 7-3 lead before Arizona rallied.

* at Atlanta 9, Washington 2: Jeff Francoeur hit a three-run home run and drove in four runs for the Braves.

* San Diego 3, at Colorado 1: Padres reliever Trevor Hoffman recorded the 1,000th strikeout of his career.

* Dodgers 6, at San Francisco 2: Luis Gonzalez hit a three-run home run and David Wells improved to 2-0 as a Dodger.
