Update -- The Wizards intend to honor Galaxy winger Cobi Jones tonight on the assumption that he will retire at the end of this season. Jones has since hinted that he might stick around to exit on a better note than this season has provided. Kansas City and the Galaxy tied, 2-2, at the Home Depot Center in July, just before David Beckham’s arrival, with Jones scoring the Galaxy goals in a second-half comeback. The Wizards are coming off a 2-1 defeat at Chivas USA after giving up a goal in stoppage time and have lost five of their last eight. The Galaxy is coming off a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas. Kansas City is battling to hold onto its playoff spot, with the Chicago Fire and Columbus Crew looming in the rear-view mirror. The Galaxy’s only playoff option is to keep winning and hope other results go its way.
