City to delay traffic flow plan

Share

City officials on Monday agreed to delay any work on a plan that would change traffic flow on Olympic and Pico boulevards on the Westside.

Two lawsuits -- one by a business group, the other by a homeowners group -- have been filed against the plan, which would favor westbound traffic on Olympic and eastbound on Pico and also remove some street parking on Pico.

The suits allege that more environmental review is needed because the plan would increase the number of cars on both roads.

Superior Court Judge John Torribio ruled Monday that the suits can be considered together, and he scheduled the next hearing for April 30 in Norwalk.

City officials also agreed not to do any work on implementing the plan until the hearing.
