Police shooting victim identified
Authorities on Thursday identified a man who was fatally shot by police after reportedly trying to grab an officer’s handgun.
Juan Herminio Carrasco, 35, of Santa Ana was shot several times in the upper torso Tuesday by a police officer after he tried to grab another officer’s gun during a pat-down search, said Santa Ana Police Cpl. Jose Gonzalez. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 11:48 p.m.
An autopsy found that Carrasco died from injuries suffered from gunshot wounds.
