Hits and misses
CALL it the green carpet. When celebrities hit the links, they’re vulnerable to snipes at their slices and their ensembles alike. From left, here’s a look at the good, the weird, the loud, the ugly.
* Justin Timberlake -- wearing a polo by J. Lindeberg at the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge in early June -- takes a cue from golf legend Sam Snead, who made fedoras cool on the course.
* At the AT&T; Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, George Lopez tapped into the game’s Scottish roots with a kilt, though that hem could’ve used a boost (and the comedian could’ve used the ventilation).
* Kid Rock blew cigar smoke in the face of golf fashion when he played at the Buick Open in Michigan in June -- in overalls. Hee-haw!
* Never one to shy away from look-at-me hues, Samuel L. Jackson plays peacock in toreador yellow.
