Boston 8, at Toronto 4: The Red Sox, who won for the 10th time in their last 14 road games, ended a club-record six-game losing streak at Toronto. They beat the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre for the first time since completing a three-game sweep on May 10, 2007.
Cleveland 7, at Texas 5: Fausto Carmona pitched six strong innings, yielding one run and six hits, as the Indians won for the 11th time in their last 14 games.
Detroit 4, at Kansas City 3: The Royals have lost six in a row, nine of 10 and 12 of 14. They have been outscored, 105-41, in the 14 games.
Tampa Bay 9, at Chicago 4: Edwin Jackson (10-8) became the Rays’ fourth 10-game winner despite six shaky innings. The former Dodger yielded seven hits and two runs, struck out five and walked five while improving to 5-1 in his last six starts.
at Seattle 7, Oakland 5: Rookie Jeff Clement had two run-scoring doubles to help the Mariners end their seven-game losing streak.
Minnesota 9, at Angels 0: The Angels were shut out for the sixth time this season.
