* at Seattle 4, Minnesota 2 (11 innings): Adrian Beltre homered against Jesse Crain in the bottom of the 11th inning and the Mariners kept the Twins out of first place in the Central. With one out in the 11th, Crain (5-4) walked Raul Ibanez. Then Beltre drilled a low, first-pitch fastball over the left-field fence to give Seattle the win.

* at Baltimore 4-3, Chicago 3-4 (first game, 14 inn.): The White Sox salvaged a split after losing the completion of a game suspended by rain. Jim Thome’s 28th homer gave the White Sox a 4-3 lead in the night game. Earlier, Lou Montanez singled in the tiebreaking run in the 14th inning to give the Orioles the win in a game halted in Chicago after 11 innings on April 28.

* Texas 9, at Kansas City 4: Nelson Cruz had three hits, including a three-run homer, in his season debut. Cruz, promoted from triple-A Oklahoma earlier in the day, homered in the third with Josh Hamilton and Marlon Byrd aboard. Cruz hit .342 with 37 home runs at Oklahoma and led the minors with a .693 slugging percentage,

* Cleveland 4, at Detroit 3 (10 innings): Grady Sizemore homered twice and Franklin Gutierrez hit a 10th-inning home run for the Indians.

* Oakland 2, at Angels 1: Dallas Braden pitched seven strong innings and Daric Barton homered for the Athletics.
