From Times Wire Reports

Sen. Ted Stevens won his Republican primary less than a month after he was indicted on corruption charges, but GOP Rep. Don Young’s bid for a 19th term was too close to call.

Young led Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell by 145 votes out of more than 93,000 cast.

Mailed ballots and the results from several precincts that haven’t yet been counted mean the winner may not be known until next week, state elections director Gail Fenumiai said.

Stevens, 84, who was charged last month with failing to report gifts from an oil services company, received 63% of the vote. He will face Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich, a Democrat, in November.
