Tribune names revenue chief
Tribune Co. named Ed Wilson chief revenue officer, responsible for increasing sales at all of the company’s divisions, including newspapers, television and online.
Last week, Tribune filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors. The Chicago company, which owns the Los Angeles Times and KTLA-TV Channel 5, is struggling amid a dramatic downturn in advertising spending and a debt of $12.9 billion, much of it accumulated nearly a year ago when real estate mogul Sam Zell took the company private.
Wilson, a former Fox and NBC executive, this year became president of Tribune Broadcasting, overseeing 23 TV stations, WGN America and WGN Radio. He will continue in that role.
