Even the losing perk comes with a hitch
Because the Detroit Lions are in last place among NFL teams now, they will have the first draft pick in April.
Typically, that doesn’t seem to be working out in their favor, as there’s no clear No. 1 selection and -- most experts agree -- no must-have franchise quarterback.
That’s not to say there isn’t a future star passer in this crop, though, because evaluating quarterbacks is at best an inexact science. As it stands, the top two quarterback prospects are Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford and Georgia’s Matthew Stafford. We’ll know within the next few weeks if Florida’s Tim Tebow plans to leave school early for the draft.
OK, guys, who wants to play for the Lions?
And don’t all raise your hands at once.
