Candice Wiggins added another special accomplishment to her Stanford career Thursday night: all-time leading scorer.

Wiggins broke Kate Starbird’s career school scoring record and finished with 18 points in 22 minutes, leading the seventh-ranked Cardinal past USC, 77-51, in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Palo Alto.

Wiggins began the game needing 12 points to surpass Starbird’s mark of 2,215, set from 1993 to 1997. She was honored at center court, hugged by Cardinal Coach Tara VanDerveer and presented with the game ball moments after the final buzzer sounded.

The Golden Bears (18-3, 9-1) had won nine in a row before faltering last weekend in a 72-52 road loss to Stanford.

The win gave Cal its first season sweep against UCLA (11-10, 6-4) since 2000-01.

The Bears broke out to an 11-point lead midway through the first half and led by double-digits the entire second half.

Doreena Campbell scored 10 points to lead the Bruins, who had won four of five games. Leading scorer Lindsey Pluimer was held to seven points on three-for-12 shooting. UCLA shot 32% from the field.
