Feb. 5 is still too late

Share

California votes too late in the presidential primaries. With only five major candidates remaining, we finally get a vote. I say that is too late. I’m not satisfied that Californians still don’t have a greater voice in the most important election process affecting our lives, our children’s lives and those of our grandchildren. When will the state with the greatest number of electoral votes get to really affect the field of presidential candidates?

Two major candidates have dropped out of the presidential race and, as usual, the largest state in the union has had no say on the matter. How long is California going to allow conservative states to veto liberal candidates before we even hold our primary election? We should move our primary to Jan. 1 or earlier until Congress acts to put all primary elections on the same day.
