When Dublab resident DJs Mark "Frosty" McNeill and Jimmy Tamborello started a club night called Give Up, the gimmick was simple: Spin sad music and ironically ask people to "stop dancing and cry." Mopery (not to mention irony) can be contagious, we guess. The monthly, wintertime-only gathering has now joined forces with the DJ collective Part Time Punks (A Sad, Slow Dance Party) for an indoor/outdoor outpouring of tears at the patio-equipped downtown bar La Cita. This week, they promise "a sad, sad, sad Valentine." 10 p.m. Tue., La Cita, 336 S. Hill St., L.A. Free. (213) 687-7111
