Buy one night, get a second night free at a string of 11 inns in Northern California and Washington. Or check into a couple of Southern California coastal inns, where you'll pay for one night and get half off the second night.

The deal: The offer is available through March 31 at Four Sisters Inns. California inns participating in the two-nights-for-the-price-of-one special are the Blackbird Inn in Napa (nightly rates from $225); the Maison Fleurie, Yountville (rates from $160); the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza, Healdsburg (rates from $250); the Inn at Sonoma, Sonoma (rates from $195); the West Cliff Inn, Santa Cruz (rates from $195); the Seal Cove Inn, Half Moon Bay (rates from $215); the Gosby House Inn, Pacific Grove (rates from $165); and the Cobblestone Inn, Carmel-by-the-Sea (rates from $160). In Washington, participants are the Inn at Harbor Steps, Seattle (rates from $200); and the Saratoga Inn, Langley, Whidbey Island (rates from $165). Offering the half-off deal are the Channel Road Inn, Santa Monica (nightly from $255; two nights from $382.50); the Blue Lantern Inn, Dana Point (nightly from $190; two nights from $285); and the Green Gables Inn, Pacific Grove (nightly from $185; two nights from $277.50).

Details: The special rates are valid Sunday through Thursday nights, excluding holidays, and are based on availability. The two nights must be consecutive and the first night must be booked at the regular rate. Rates are for two people sharing one room.
