* Story line: Rutgers cracked the national top 10 after Week 4, but then lost four of its next six. They still have a solid defense that ranks No. 2 in the nation against the pass at 160.6 yards a game. Ray Rice is the third-leading rusher in the nation with 1,732 yards and 20 touchdowns. Ball State is in a bowl game for the first time since 1996. The Cardinals have only 10 turnovers this season -- fewest in the nation -- but their defense is vulnerable to the run, giving up 197 yards a game. Quarterback Nate Davis has passed for 27 touchdowns and has had only six passes intercepted.
