Man dies after shooting wife, self
Police say a Folsom man shot his wife during an argument before fatally shooting himself while their three children were at home.
Folsom Police Officer Michelle Beattie said the couple’s 14-year-old daughter called police about 2 a.m. Sunday. Officers arrived to find both parents suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
The couple were taken to a hospital in Carmichael, where the man was pronounced dead. The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.
The other children, ages 6 and 10, were also home at the time of the shooting, police said. None was injured.
The children were placed in the care of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services agency.
