* Carolina 3, at N.Y. Islanders 2 (OT): Cory Stillman scored the power-play winner in overtime for the Hurricanes.
* at Phoenix 6, Buffalo 2: Shane Doan scored one of three Phoenix goals in a span of just over 5 1/2 minutes of the second period. The Sabres set a franchise record with their eighth consecutive road loss.
* at Nashville 6, St. Louis 3: Alexander Radulov and Martin Gelinas had two goals and an assist for the Predators, who are 7-2-2 in their last 11 games.
* Washington 6, at Pittsburgh 5 (SO): Alexander Ovechkin had two goals and an assist and scored during the shootout for the Penguins. Evgeni Malkin had two goals and an assist for the Penguins.
* Minnesota 4, at Vancouver 2: Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored twice, including the go-ahead goal midway through the second period, and had two assists as the Wild moved into first place in the Northwest Division.
