Motorcyclist dies in police chase
A motorcyclist fleeing police early Wednesday died after crashing into a concrete barrier on the westbound 134 Freeway, authorities said.
The pursuit, which at times topped 110 mph, began after a traffic officer tried to stop the cyclist for running a red light shortly after 4 a.m. in downtown Glendale. The motorcyclist fled on the freeway and was exiting toward Hollywood Way in Burbank when he hit the barrier.
The man was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released pending notification of relatives.
