McCain’s so much more than his age

The jokes about Sen. John McCain’s age have gotten old, says Conan O’Brien.

So, during the taping Friday of his late-night TV show, O’Brien asked McCain for help in coming up with gags that weren’t about the 71-year-old’s age.

“We don’t want to do those jokes anymore,” he told McCain. “Can you give us anything else? Do you have a kooky uncle? Do you have bad breath? Webbed toes? Anything? Give us something and we’ll run with it.”

McCain was a good sport, quipping: “All of the above!”

Despite O’Brien’s claim that he was dropping the age humor, he opened the broadcast with a jab.

“Normally on Fridays we would tape our show at 4:30, but to accommodate Sen. John McCain, we agreed to tape the show at 5:30,” O’Brien said. “Sen. McCain wasn’t available at 4:30 because that’s when he eats dinner.”
