Update -- The Galaxy on Friday waived defender Abel Xavier, a former Portuguese international, and signed Argentine defender Eduardo Dominguez, who will be eligible to play today. Xavier, 35, played 20 games in his 13 months with the team. Dominguez is a 12-year veteran of the Argentine and Colombian leagues. The Red Bulls also made some changes. Midfielder and former U.S. national team captain Claudio Reyna retired in midweek and New York on Thursday signed midfielders Jorge Rojas, 31, of Venezuela and Juan Pietravallo, 26, of Argentina. Both are eligible to play today. A record crowd of 66,237 saw the Red Bulls score a 5-4 win over the Galaxy at the Meadowlands last season and a similar throng is expected.
