A Montebello woman earlier charged with defrauding immigrants now faces additional criminal counts, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced Thursday.

Romina Aida Zadorian, 38, faces more than 100 criminal charges, including grand theft, forgery and identity theft. Prosecutors said Zadorian ran an immigration consulting business, pretending she was an attorney and charging clients $6,000 to $20,000 per person.

Zadorian allegedly took money from 101 clients and told many that she could help them obtain legal residency, citizenship and work permits.

If convicted on all counts, Zadorian could face more than 40 years in state prison.
