RESULTS, SCHEDULE
at Detroit 105, New Orleans 84: Jarvis Hayes scored 29 points, including a career-high seven three-point baskets, and the Pistons routed the Hornets despite falling behind, 11-0. The Pistons have won four of their last five while the Hornets, missing David West (ankle), lost for only the second time in seven games.
at Cleveland 98, Charlotte 91: LeBron James scored 33 points for the Cavaliers, who held on after Jason Richardson (33 points) cut an 11-point fourth-quarter Bobcats’ deficit to one with nine straight points. Ben Wallace scored his only two baskets of the game in the final two minutes to help lift the Cavaliers.
Atlanta 109, at New York 98: Joe Johnson had 28 points and 11 assists to help the Hawks move into a tie for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot with New Jersey. The Knicks have lost eight of their last nine. Atlanta (28-38) hasn’t made the playoffs since 1999, the NBA’s longest drought.
at Sacramento 106, Toronto 100: Kevin Martin had 32 points and eight rebounds to send the Raptors to their fourth straight loss and keep them winless at Sacramento since March 1997, a span of 10 games. Toronto played its ninth straight game without Chris Bosh (knee), falling to 2-7 during that stretch.
Dallas 98, at Miami 73: Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points before sitting out most of the second half after the Mavericks held a 20-point lead midway through the opening quarter in their fifth straight victory. It was little more than a tuneup for Dallas, which now plays the Lakers, Boston and San Antonio in the next seven days.
at Denver 168, Seattle 116: The Nuggets set an NBA season high for points in a half (84) and a game. The Nuggets’ 168 points top the 138 they scored against Seattle in a 32-point win on Feb. 27, which was also the league high for the season. Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets in scoring with 26 points.
at Houston 104, Lakers 92: In winning an NBA second-best 22 in a row, the Rockets took sole possession of the Western Conference lead by also winning their 15th in a row at the Toyota Center and 10th in a row since Yao Ming’s season-ending foot injury. Houston has also won 11 of its last 13 by double-digits.
