Lawyer gets prison term
An Orange County attorney was sentenced to three years in state prison Tuesday for molesting two teen boys, one of whom he met via the Internet and the other in Virginia.
Jeffrey Ray Nielsen, 37, pleaded guilty on Dec. 7, 2007, to one felony count of lewd acts on a child under 14 and another felony count of lewd acts on a child between 14 and 15.
Prosecutors said Nielsen met the older boy, who lives in Orange County, in 2003 on a gay Internet site and drove him to his Ladera Ranch condominium where the two engaged in oral copulation.
He met the younger boy, who was 13 at the time, in 1994 while staying with his family in Virginia and later brought him to Fountain Valley, where some of the molestation took place.
When they arrested him in May of 2003, police found thousands of images of child pornography on Nielsen’s home computer, laptop and the work computer at his law firm.
