The Suns’ Shaquille O’Neal, who scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, shredded a net on a basket while being fouled on a shot attempt, causing a nine-minute delay in the second quarter.

at Detroit 85, Cleveland 71: Richard Hamilton scored 14 points for the Pistons, who held LeBron James to 13 points on four-for-17 shooting. Ben Wallace, in his first game at the Palace since joining the Cavaliers, was back on the court after sitting out two-plus games because of back spasms. But he played only 20 minutes, needing help to go to the locker room after his back injury flared up.

at Chicago 114, Milwaukee 111: Rookie Joakim Noah scored a season-high 18 points and had 15 rebounds to lead the Bulls past the Bucks, who made it close after trailing by 21 points in the fourth quarter. The Bulls are 3 1/2 games behind the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

at Denver 119, Golden State 112: The Nuggets won their fifth consecutive game and improved to 30-7 at home while handing the Warriors their fifth loss in nine games. Denver won despite a four-for-20 shooting night by Allen Iverson, who finished with 14 points.

Charlotte 93, at Portland 85: Emeka Okafor scored 21 points and Jason Richardson had 20 to lead the Bobcats past the Trail Blazers. The Bobcats wrapped up their four-game trip at 3-1. Portland played without All-Star guard Brandon Roy, who has a groin injury.

at Clippers 110, Memphis 97: Rookie Al Thornton scored 20 of his career-high 39 points in the fourth quarter for the Clippers. Chris Kaman had 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Clippers.
