at New York 12-1, Cincinnati 6-7: Bronson Arroyo pitched eight dominant innings to give the Reds a split of the day-night doubleheader. In the opener, Carlos Beltran drove in five runs to lead the Mets.

at Chicago 7, Arizona 2: Alfonso Soriano hit a go-ahead double during a six-run seventh inning, and Kosuke Fukudome hit his first home run since opening day to cap the rally.

St. Louis 5, at Milwaukee 3: Ryan Ludwick hit a two-run single with two out in the ninth inning and the Cardinals ended a season-long three-game skid.

at San Francisco 8, Philadelphia 2: Aaron Rowand homered against his former club for the second time in just more than a week and the Giants ended a season-worst five-game skid.

at Pittsburgh 5, Atlanta 2: The Braves lost their sixth in a row away from home and are a major league-worst 4-13 on the road.

at San Diego 3, Colorado 2: Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run homer to help the Padres win for only fifth time in 23 games.

Houston 5, at Dodgers 0: Chris Sampson pitched three-hit ball over seven innings.
