* at New York 5, Florida 3: Johan Santana (6-3) struck out seven over seven innings, and Fernando Tatis and Ramon Castro each had run-scoring singles to help the Mets win for only the second time in nine games.
* at Cincinnati 9, Pittsburgh 6: Adam Dunn hit a three-run home run and Jay Bruce was three for three in his major league debut to lead the Reds. Dunn also had a run-scoring single.
* at Milwaukee 3, Atlanta 2: Bill Hall scored on a sacrifice fly by Mike Cameron in the ninth inning, narrowly beating the throw to the plate.
* Houston 8, at St. Louis 2: Shawn Chacon won his second consecutive start after nine no-decisions to open the season and Hunter Pence had a career-best five hits for the Astros.
* at San Diego 4, Washington 2: Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff homered on consecutive pitches with two outs in the seventh inning to lead the Padres in a game between last-place teams.
* San Francisco 6, at Arizona 3: Bengie Molina and Jose Castillo homered to help Tim Lincecum earn his seventh victory.
* at Chicago 3, Dodgers 1: Aramis Ramirez and Kosuke Fukudome capped a three-run seventh with run-scoring hits.
