Teacher accused of sex with minor
A high school band director in Orange County has been charged with having sex with one of her students.
Carlie Attebury, a 29-year-old who works at El Modena High School, was charged Friday with eight felony counts.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Susan Kang Schroeder says a student admitted having sex with the teacher in February and April. He was 15 or 16 at the time.
The Orange Unified School District says Attebury is on unpaid leave.
She is charged with unlawful sexual intercourse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
Schroeder said Attebury has not been taken into custody but is expected to surrender.
Attempts to reach Attebury at her home were not successful Friday night.
