Fifth-ranked Oklahoma’s 65-21 whitewash of No. 2 Texas Tech probably eliminated the Red Raiders from national-championship contention and plummeted the stock of their two Heisman Trophy candidates. Meanwhile, the Sooners’ victory vastly helped their quarterback’s Heisman chances and, more important, their hopes of appearing in the BCS title game.

COLT McCOY, junior quarterback, Texas: idle.

GRAHAM HARRELL, senior quarterback, Texas Tech: Oklahoma held Harrell’s offense on five straight possessions, a first for Texas Tech this season. The Sooners also took Harrell down for minus-38 yards in four carries and forced him to throw an interception that soon led to an Oklahoma touchdown. Stats: 33 for 55 for 361 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.

SAM BRADFORD, sophomore quarterback, Oklahoma: Bradford’s four touchdown passes broke the school record for a season, set by Jason White in 2003, the year he won the Heisman. Could that be a foreshadowing? Stats: 14 for 19 for 304 yards and four touchdowns. He also had five carries for 18 yards.

TIM TEBOW, junior quarterback, Florida: After five plays in the second quarter, Tebow handed the reins to backup John Brantley. Tebow’s job was done after leading Florida to touchdowns on its first seven possessions in what will turn out to be his last home game if he opts for the NFL draft. Stats: nine for 11 for 201 yards and three touchdowns and two carries for 34 yards.

MICHAEL CRABTREE, sophomore wide receiver, Texas

Tech: Harrell has credited Crabtree with knowing how to get open, even when Harrell faces pressure. That wasn’t the case against the Sooners. Stats: six catches for 62 yards.
