SOUTHLAND
No. 19 Wake Forest 75, Cal State Fullerton 69: Jeff Teague scored 24 points and the Demon Deacons (4-0) overcame a slow start to hold off the Titans (2-3) in the first round of the 76 Classic at Anaheim. Josh Akognon led Fullerton with 24 points. Wake Forest led by as many as 15 early in the second half, but Fullerton stayed close with timely three-point baskets and scrappy defense. Fullerton made seven three-pointers in the second half.
