Illinois 45, at Michigan 20: Quarterback Juice Williams’ 431 yards of total offense (310 passing, 121 rushing) at Ann Arbor were the most any player has had at Michigan Stadium and it matched an opponent record against the Wolverines. The Illini (3-2, 1-1) set a school record for points against Michigan, surpassing the 39 Red Grange helped them score in 1924 as Memorial Stadium was dedicated, and they scored the most any team has at the Big House since Florida State had 51 in 1991. Michigan (2-3, 1-1) has its worst record after five games since starting 1-5 in 1967.

No. 6 Penn State 20, at Purdue 6: Evan Royster ran for 141 yards and a touchdown at West Lafayette, Ind., as Purdue Coach Joe Tiller absorbed his 15th consecutive loss to a ranked opponent. Royster also had 53 yards on four catches for the Nittany Lions (6-0, 2-0), who outgained the Boilermakers (2-3, 0-1), 422 to 241.

at Michigan State 16, Iowa 13: The Spartans made a key fourth-down stop in the fourth quarter to preserve their fifth consecutive victory. Tailback Shonn Greene gained 157 yards in 30 carries for the Hawkeyes, but with 2:16 to play, linebacker Adam Decker stopped him on fourth and one from the Spartans’ 21-yard line to seal the win for Michigan State (5-1, 2-0). Iowa (3-3, 0-2) passed up a 38-yard, game-tying field-goal attempt to go for it on fourth down.

at Minnesota 16, Indiana 7: Eric Decker tied a school record with 13 catches for 190 yards at Minneapolis and withstood a vicious blow to the head in the fourth quarter to get Coach Tim Brewster his first career Big Ten victory. Adam Weber completed his first 12 passes and threw for 274 yards, and the defense shut down the mistake-prone Hoosiers (2-3, 0-2) to end a nine-game conference losing streak for Minnesota (5-1, 1-1).
