Reward offered for stolen plaques
School district officials announced on Thursday a $1,000 reward for the return of six bronze plaques, including four honoring Santa Ana High School’s war dead, that were stolen from a campus wall Tuesday night.
Four of the plaques honored students who died in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The others commemorated a rededication of the school building and the school’s centennial anniversary.
Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 558-5535 or an anonymous reporting line at (714) 558-5111. Santa Ana school district police and city police were investigating.
