Sentencing in baby’s murder
From the Associated Press
The Santa Clarita mother convicted of killing her newborn and leaving the body in a trash bin has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Jacquelin Linaras received the maximum sentence Thursday by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.
The 25-year-old was convicted last month of first-degree murder for hitting the girl’s head on a cabinet shortly after giving birth.
Linaras then dumped the body in a trash bin in a Santa Clarita mobile home park where she lived.
The body was found the next day.
