ST. LOUIS -- Kyle Quincey and Patrick O’Sullivan scored 5:28 apart in the first period, Jason LaBarbera stopped 15 shots and the Kings beat the listless St. Louis Blues, 4-0, Friday night.

The Kings, winners of three of their last four after opening the season 0-2, also got goals from Jarret Stoll and Dustin Brown. Brown also had an assist and LaBarbera earned his third career shutout.

St. Louis has dropped two straight at home.

The Blues also lost goalie Manny Legace to a “lower body injury.” He stopped 10 shots before departing after the first period. Legace might have been injured when he tripped on the carpet laid out for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who dropped the ceremonial first puck.

As the Blues were coming onto the ice for pregame warmups, Legace stepped onto the ice and apparently stumbled on the carpet. Legace played the first period, but the injury obviously affected his play, and he was replaced St. Louis native Ben Bishop, who made his NHL debut.
