at Florida 2, Washington 1: Jorge Cantu’s fourth-inning homer made the Marlins the first team in major league history to have four infielders hit at least 25. Mike Jacobs (32), Dan Uggla (30), Hanley Ramirez (29) and Cantu (25) have 116 of Florida’s 188 homers.

at Pittsburgh 10, St. Louis 2: Nate McLouth had a career-high five RBIs and finished a single short of the cycle, hitting a two-run homer in the third, a three-run double in the fifth and a triple in the sixth. The Pirates ended a six-game losing streak.

San Francisco 5, at San Diego 2: Padres ace Jake Peavy fell to 9-11, giving up five runs and a season-high 11 hits in eight innings. It was the first time in 14 home starts he has given up more than three earned runs.

Atlanta at New York, ppd., rain: The rained-out game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader today.

Milwaukee at Philadelphia, ppd., rain: The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Sunday.
