Irvine hospital ahead of schedule
UC Irvine has finished building its new hospital four months ahead of schedule, officials announced Monday.
The $406-million New University Hospital, at the university’s medical center in Orange, will replace a hospital that was built in 1960. The university expects to move patients into the seven-story, 236-bed hospital in January, once it acquires patient-care licenses and installs equipment.
