A man who allegedly stabbed his stepmother to death in her Tustin home was in custody Tuesday, police said.

Craig Rolle, 21, of Tustin was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of murder in the death of Tabea Kenney, 24, said Tustin police Sgt. Jeff Blair. About 12:30 p.m. Monday, police received 911 calls about a man breaking a window of an apartment in the 1600 block of Mitchell Avenue. A witness heard a woman scream, “Please don’t kill me,” Blair said.

Police arrived and found the body of a woman with multiple stab wounds, Blair said.

Officers followed a trail of blood from the crime scene to a nearby apartment complex and found Rolle at the swimming pool there, bleeding from a cut, Blair said. Rolle was taken to a hospital and then arrested at 1:08 p.m.
