Pacers defeat Pistons, 106-102

at Indiana 106, Detroit 102: Danny Granger scored 24 points and the Pacers stalled the Pistons’ bid for a higher playoff seeding. Indiana led by 12 points early in the final quarter, but Detroit rallied and took a 102-101 lead on a basket by Richard Hamilton with 56 seconds to go. The Pacers went ahead on a spinning layup by Jarrett Jack and iced the game with a free throw by Troy Murphy with 16 seconds left and two free throws by Granger with five seconds to go. Hamilton led Detroit with 23 points.

Phoenix 110, at Minnesota 97: Two games after Phoenix was eliminated from playoff contention, Grant Hill scored 19 points in 23 minutes to lead the Suns, who gave plenty of minutes to youngsters Robin Lopez, Goran Dragic and Louis Amundson. Sebastian Telfair had 21 points for the Timberwolves.

at Chicago 113, Charlotte 106: Ben Gordon scored 39 points, John Salmons finished with 19 after a slow start and the Bulls hit the .500 mark for the first time since mid-November. With the Bulls trailing, 93-92, midway through the fourth quarter, Salmons and Gordon made consecutive three-point baskets to start a decisive 10-point run. Derrick Rose had 22 points to help the seventh-place Bulls strengthen their standing in the Eastern Conference.

at Milwaukee 115, Oklahoma City 98: Richard Jefferson tied a season high with 35 points and the Bucks ended a losing streak at four games. Luke Ridnour scored 18 points and Charlie Villanueva had 14 for the Bucks, who will finish with a winning record at home with one final game at the Bradley Center on Monday against Orlando. Jefferson scored at least 30 points for the sixth time this season.

Golden State 118, at Utah 108: C.J. Watson scored a career-high 38 points and Robert Kurz had a career-best 21 for the Warriors, who led by as many as 17 points and never let the Jazz get closer than five points despite having only seven players in uniform. Watson made all 16 of his free throws and had nine assists and seven rebounds.

Portland 87, at Clippers 72: LaMarcus Aldridge scored 21 points, Joel Przybilla had 10 points and 14 rebounds, and the Trail Blazers tied for third place in the Western Conference.
