Update: The Galaxy is on the road for the first time this season after starting out with a loss and two ties at home. San Jose has played three home games, going 1-1-1, and has also lost its only road game. The Galaxy will be without forward Alan Gordon and defender Gregg Berhalter. Both are serving one-game suspensions after being ejected during last weekend’s 0-0 tie with Chivas USA. The Earthquakes, who will be without suspended midfielder Shea Salinas, “were awful” in the second half of a 3-3 tie with the Chicago Fire last weekend, Coach Frank Yallop said. San Jose features four former Galaxy players, including Simon Elliott, who was acquired by San Jose this season along with former U.S. national team player Bobby Convey.
