I’m trying to figure out which is more embarrassing -- falling almost 1,000 fans short of a sellout after winning two straight road playoff games against the best team in the league, or having lower TV ratings than reruns of 75-year-old “Three Stooges” episodes (which are frequently more entertaining than the product that the NHL feeds us)?

I guess that’s what happens when your sport hires a commissioner who spends most of his time trying to figure out whether a hockey puck is inflated or stuffed.
