at Detroit 4, Baltimore 2: Magglio Ordonez hit a home run to back up Edwin Jackson (8-5), who took a shutout into the ninth inning. Jackson has given up two runs in 16 innings against Baltimore this season.

at Oakland 7, Texas 5: Adam Kennedy hit a tiebreaking two-run home run in the sixth inning, helping the Athletics beat the Rangers for the third consecutive time. Scott Hairston, Kurt Suzuki and Chad Pennington also hit home runs for the A’s.

Seattle 11, at Kansas City 6: Ichiro Suzuki had his major league-leading 52nd multi-hit game, and Russell Branyan and Jose Lopez each drove in three runs to lead the Mariners.
