Helene Elliott has every right to be excited about the recent 90,000 fans at the Rose Bowl for the Galaxy-FC Barcelona match.

But, let’s keep a few things in perspective, here. First of all, it was the first such crowd for a soccer game in 15 years! Secondly, you can throw gazillions of dollars at every international soccer star in the world to play here in America, and it will still not catch on until that goal-destroying offsides penalty is somehow changed.

If American officials had any guts, they’d modify the rule and call it American Rules Soccer. And, I guarantee you, the foreign players coming here, as well as our domestic teams, would dig it.
