Rodriguez has a way with kids

Share

In her review of “Shorts” [“Coming Up Short,” Aug. 21], Betsy Sharkey says she wishes the director, Robert Rodriguez, would “set aside the kid stuff and get back to the promise of his earlier work.”

She must have forgotten that in 1995, Rodriguez directed one of the segments that made up “Four Rooms.” The segment, “The Misbehavers,” featured two wickedly warped children who tormented bellhop Tim Roth and deceived their father, played by Antonio Banderas. It was one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.

I can’t imagine a director doing a better job directing children.
