Spurs rally to give Gregg Popovich his 700th coaching win
Tim Duncan dunked over Roy Hibbert with 4.6 seconds left to give San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich his 700th win, a thrilling 100-99 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night.
Hibbert blocked Duncan’s first attempt with time winding down before the Spurs forward grabbed the ball back and went over Hibbert for the winning score, the last of his 19 points.
T.J. Ford missed a fadeaway jumper as time expired for the Pacers, who blew a 13-point lead going into the fourth quarter.
Popovich is the 16th coach in NBA history to reach 700 wins and is among seven active coaches to hit the milestone.
