Windsor Quality Food Co. recalled 676,560 pounds of frozen beef chili after consumers said they found stones or pebbles in some of the product, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The recalled product includes 5- and 20-pound bags of frozen “Whitey’s Chili With Beans, Premium, No MSG,” which were distributed nationwide.

* 1,200 Harajuku Lovers Hooded Jackets, made in China and distributed by Jerry Leigh of California Inc. of Van Nuys, are being recalled because the jackets’ drawstring through the hood can pose a strangulation hazard to children. They were sold at Nordstrom, Macy’s and other retailers nationwide from August 2008 through last month. Information: (877) 800-0824, Ext. 122, or www.cpsc.gov.

* About 12,000 bicycles with R-SYS front-wheel rims, made in France and imported by Mavic USA of Haverhill, Mass., are being recalled because the spokes on the front wheel rim can break during use, posing a hazard to riders. The recalled products, sold from May 2007 to December 2008, include R-SYS and R-SYS Premium front wheel rims. Information: www.mavic.com (click on “road” and then “news”) or www.cpsc.gov.

* 100,000 Safety 1st SmartLight stair gates, made in China and imported by Dorel Juvenile Group USA of Columbus, Ind., are being recalled because the hinges that hold the gate in place can break. * About 700 Arch Swing Sets, made in the U.S. by Playland International of Carrollton, Ga., are being recalled because the metal around the weld at the top of the swing frame can fail. * About 3,000 construction play sets, made in China by DDI Inc. of Dubuque, Iowa, are being recalled because surface paint on the play sets can contain lead. The recall involves the 136-piece Mega Construction Play Set, item 911346. The product was sold at home centers, hardware stores and farm stores nationwide from October to December last year.
