Kim Salmela style, and a discount too

Share

After establishing Haute House, a line of upholstered furniture sold through the Neiman Marcus and Horchow catalogs, Kim Salmela opened a design studio and boutique that reflected her taste for Hollywood glamour and Park Avenue polish. The Los Angeles store, a treasure chest of Dorothy Draper-style decor as well as handsomely updated period pieces, is offering its inventory at 30% off. Salmela’s sofas take center stage: The Hayworth, shown here, is a swank interpretation of the normally boxy tuxedo sofa with button-tufted back cushions, gracefully sloping arms and a curved frame that begs for a round coffee table. Covered in blue velvet, it usually sells for $3,495 but has been reduced to about $2,450. The oversized pillows ($157.50) are part of a large collection of designs by Salmela. 8312 Beverly Blvd.; (323) 782-1290; www.kimsalmela.com.
