Kidd is staying in Dallas

The Dallas Mavericks re-signed free-agent point guard Jason Kidd on Saturday, five days after owner Mark Cuban confirmed that Kidd was returning. Kidd agreed to a three-year contract worth more than $25 million.

The 36-year-old Kidd could finish his career where it started in 1994 -- with the Mavericks.

The No. 2 overall pick in the ’94 draft from California, Kidd returned to Dallas in a trade last year with New Jersey, where he made two trips to the NBA Finals with the Nets.

The nine-time All-Star is third on the NBA’s all-time list in assists (10,199) and triple-doubles (103).

Kidd has averaged 13.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 9.2 assists in 15 NBA seasons.

Thunder signs three

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed guard James Harden, center B.J. Mullens and forward Serge Ibaka. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Harden, the third overall pick in the draft, was a first-team All-American and the Pacific 10 Conference player of the year after averaging 20.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists during his sophomore season at Arizona State. He can earn about $4 million as a rookie.

Mullens was the Big Ten sixth man of the year for Ohio State. Ibaka spent last season playing professionally with Ricoh Manresa of the Spanish ACB League.

Knicks sign Hill

The New York Knicks signed Jordan Hill, the team’s first-round draft pick from Arizona.

Hill, the eighth overall pick in the draft last month, would earn about $4.3 million over two years under the rookie salary scale.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward averaged 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in his junior season with the Wildcats.

Hill is expected to play for the Knicks’ summer league team in Las Vegas starting Tuesday.
